What, you say? The 45th? No way! It can’t be that long ago! But if it is, what’s the 45th? Certainly it’s not the milestone that the 50th is. I’ll wait for the 50th to return to Skidmore…
Why wait another six years to return to Skidmore and Saratoga and to re-connect with classmates? Six years is a long time, and a lot can happen in that time. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend the 45th! Count it as a rehearsal for the 50th, if you will.
A small but idea-filled group of us gathered this summer on campus to begin the planning for a really nice time, but one without scheduling too much so that we all have time to socialize, explore and experience.
Socialize: We have three great evenings arranged, as well as the customary All-Reunion Class Picnic. We shall also have a hospitality suite with drinks and snacks for informal gathering and sharing of memories and updates on our lives.
Explore: A lot has changed on campus and off that you will want to discover for yourselves.
Experience: Make new friends; catch up with old ones. Take in a lecture, the alumni art show, a sports activity or something else. Breathe in the campus vibe and the richness that a revitalized Saratoga exudes.
You’ll be hearing more in the coming months as plans are firmed up and set in motion and fundraising kicks off (remember: we need to support Skidmore to help it keep up the quality education we all experienced).
So, I reiterate: mark your calendars for June 1-4, 2017, and plan to attend. This is a time to reconnect with classmates and get to know others you really didn’t know while we were all at Skidmore. That’s what Reunion is all about. That’s what it means to me.
Looking forward to seeing you all next June,
Kebbie Kennedy '72
