Dear Skidmore Alumni/ae:
I am reaching out today to wish you and your loved ones the very best during these trying and uncertain times.
I am also writing to tell you that many Skidmore students suddenly need support. Because our students are currently moving and beginning remote learning on 3/23 for the rest of the semester due to COVID-19, many of them are faced with emergency needs.
Many alumni have inquired how they can help. In response to requests from alumni, parents and students, we have established a Student Emergency Fund to help with various needs that are coming up for students and their families. They, like the rest of us, are scrambling to adjust to these challenges and for some, they are trying to get home.
If you wish to be of assistance in this time of need, you can make an online gift here.
Thank you for being part of our Skidmore community. At its core, that’s what Skidmore is — a community of students, faculty, staff, alumni and parents. We celebrate together in good times, and look out for one another in bad. In the coming weeks and months, we will all need to lean on each other, as well as those in our own communities, for support. Stay safe and be well.
Warm regards,
Sibyl Waterman Haley ’71
