The Sustainable Skidmore Office promotes and advocates for sustainability at Skidmore College and highlights sustainable programs and practices on campus. The Sustainability Coordinator on campus oversees these efforts, in conjunction with the many faculty, staff, and students who help make sustainability a reality on campus.
The programs currently managed by the Sustainable Skidmore Office include the Friends of the North Woods, Skidmore College Greenhouse Gas Inventory, Skidmore Student Garden (in conjunction with the Environmental Action Club), S-Reps, Give Go, and Sustainability Interns! In addition to these formal programs, this office also works on initiatives related to the following topics: composting, waste reduction and recycling, water conservation, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building, land management and trail maintenance, sustainability in the curriculum, and general strategic planning around sustainability.
Donations to Sustainable Skidmore will help to continue this breadth of initiatives, and we greatly appreciate your gift! Please contact the Sustainability Coordinator at the number or email below if you have specific ideas or interests as related to sustainability.
