Join us for an evening with accomplished value investor Edgar Wachenheim III, an emeritus trustee of the College, son of an alumna, and parent of three alumni. Ed is the 28-year CEO of Greenhaven Associates, an investment firm in Purchase, NY with $5 billion in assets under management and a string of impressive annual returns. Ed was a longtime member of Skidmore’s investment committee and currently chairs the New York Public Library's investment committee. He also chairs the finance committee and is a member of the investment committee at the Museum of Modern Art.

In his new book, Common Stocks and Common Sense: The Strategies, Analyses, Decisions, and Emotions of a Particularly Successful Value Investor, Ed shares his knowledge and experiences by providing detailed analyses of actual investments made by him and his team, as well as exploring the softer side of the investment process with candid insights into its joys and frustrations. Enjoy the rare opportunity to hear from one of the Wall Street's best investors as he answers questions about his investment philosophy and how an investor can succeed in today's stock market. The Q&A discussion will be facilitated by Skidmore trustee Dan Allen ’90, President and Senior Portfolio Manager at Anchorage Capital Group; reception to follow. All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Ed’s book.
