Join Skidmore’s virtual alumni book club!

Currently reading: The Secret Life of Groceries: The Dark Miracle of the American Supermarket by Benjamin Lorr (October - December 2023)

Next reading: Take My Hand by Dolen Perkins-Valdez (January - March 2024)

This initiative offers our alumni the opportunity to connect with each other while reading books related to their personal interests, or the College. We'll read a variety of books, ranging from fiction and literature to professional development. Book club members vote on the books you'll read and sign up is easy and free!

How it works

Each book club connects through a private online forum where people can discuss the current book and connect with each other. We spend roughly two months on each book, culminating in an end-of-book discussion so that everyone has time to finish reading. Since the discussions are asynchronous, you can participate whenever is best for you!

Why should you join?

There are three main reasons we hope you'll be excited to participate in our book club:
  1. Connect with fellow Skidmore College Alumni,
  2. Continue your journey of lifelong learning, and
  3. Reading is good for you!

The book club is managed by PBC Guru. PBC Guru manages book clubs for companies and alumni associations and moderates the group to help make this program a great experience for all participants. Please email them with any questions or visit their website to see more of what they do.

We hope you enjoy this opportunity to connect with fellow Skidmore alumni from wherever you live, whenever it is convenient for you!
