Class of 1979

We can't wait to see you!

Reunion 2024 Newsletter from your Class Volunteers

Be sure to mark your calendar now for May 30 - June 2, 2024 and plan to attend our 45th ‘Another Road Trip to Reunion!’ Can’t wait to see everyone!!

It's hard to believe that it's time to start thinking about our 45th Reunion! How can our graduation already be 45 years ago! I have enjoyed seeing Skidmore’s recent posts on Facebook and Instagram of students moving in to their dorms and taking part in all the campus activities. Certainly reminiscent of what seems like ‘yesterday’ for us!

This summer, a group of our classmates formally kicked off the Reunion preparation process via a Zoom call with the assistance of our Skidmore staff partners. Here are a few of the outcomes and planned activities based on that call.

  • On Thursday we'll gather at the All-Class Welcome Party and then make a plan to head downtown.
  • On Friday night, the Class of 1979 will participate in the Reunion Rendezvous, an All-Class Food Truck Event on campus near Case Center.  Later Friday evening – meet at T&L’s!
  • On Saturday, we'll enjoy our Class Celebration Dinner at Falstaff’s with music performances by classmates Jim Hoitsma and Glenn Berger and, afterwards, join the rest of the classes under the big tent where we’ll have a front row seat to a great band and the awesome fireworks.
  • Mini-college classes will be held on Friday and Saturday afternoons
  • President's Hour on Saturday afternoon offers an opportunity to meet Marc C. Conner if you’ve not already had the pleasure
  • As always, the Art Exhibition offers opportunities for our diverse alumni to connect with each other, and the annual reception for Nursing majors will take place throughout the weekend
  • And there will, of course, be opportunities to gather in downtown Saratoga Springs informally throughout the weekend.

Other suggestions? Please email Lisa Lavieri. Our team would like to encourage everyone to come back to Skidmore and, to steal a phrase from Skidmore’s President Conner, to ‘see it and remember…come get informed and inspired’.

This giving year (June 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024), we hope you'll consider making a gift commitment to help the Class of 1979 reach its ambitious 45th Reunion gift goal of $90,000 that will help bolster a strong foundation of support for our college.

As we look ahead to Reunion Weekend 2024, please keep an eye out for emails and/or snail mail that will keep you up-to-date with important information and approaching deadlines. In fact, you’ll see below the contact information that Skidmore has on file for you. If you have updates to your mailing address, etc. please be sure to click the Update My Info button. We look forward to seeing you in-person from May 30 - June 2, 2024!
