Reunion 2024 Newsletter from your Class of 1969 Volunteers
Be sure to mark your calendar now for May 30 - June 2, 2024 and plan to attend our 55th Reunion!
It's hard to believe that it’s time to start thinking about our 55th Reunion! It doesn't seem that long ago since we walked across the stage at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center to receive our diplomas. Nor does it seem plausible that nearly 60 years have gone by since we first visited the Skidmore campuses (yes, two and perhaps three for some who majored in Nursing!) and we decided that it would be our college.
In August, a group of classmates formally started the Reunion planning process via a Zoom call with the assistance of our Skidmore staff partners. Here are a few of the outcomes and planned activities based on that call:
- On Thursday night, we'll enjoy the Scribner Society Dinner with President Marc Conner and Barbara Reyes-Conner on the 2nd Floor of the Murray-Aikins Dining Hall
- On Friday evening, we'll have a Class Reception & Welcome Dinner at the Surrey-Williamson Inn
- We'll enjoy a Reception & Dinner on campus on Saturday night
- Mini-college classes will be held on Friday & Saturday afternoons
- A reception for Nursing majors will take place on Saturday afternoon
- All weekend long, we'll have the opportunity to gather together in our Class of 1969 Hospitality Suite
This giving year (June 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024), we hope you'll consider making a five-year pledge commitment to help the Class of 1969 reach its ambitious 55th Reunion overall gift goal of $2 million that will help bolster a strong foundation of support for our college. All five-year pledges will be counted in this 55th year and all gifts made through the Skidmore Fund will help the Class of 1969 reach its annual giving goal of $200,000, which will be included in the overall class gift total.
As we look ahead to Reunion Weekend 2024, we hope to see you at upcoming Zoom Happy Hours (our first will be held on Wednesday, October 25, at 7 p.m. ET). And please keep an eye out for emails and/or snail mail that will keep you up-to-date with important information and approaching deadlines.
We look forward to seeing you in-person in Saratoga Springs, May 30 - June 2, 2024!
