Volunteer Welcome Breakfast

Join your staff liaison for a cup of coffee and conversation.

College Update for Volunteers and other Returning Alumni 
Davis Auditorium, Palamountain Hall
President Phil Glotzbach will share College priorities as outlined in the Strategic Plan and offer campaign highlights.

10-10:15 a.m.

10:15 a.m. – 11 a.m.
The Power of Volunteers: Trends and Tips for Success
Davis Auditorium, Palamountain Hall
Join Collyer Vice President for Advancement, Michael Casey, and long-time member of the Advancement Staff Marny Krause, to hear perspectives on the importance of volunteer work. Michael and Marny will share their insights from their personal volunteer experiences, as well as guidance and observations from their long history working with alumni volunteers. For all volunteers.

11-11:10 a.m.

Presidents Society Advancement Council at Large volunteers (both PS Chairs and Executive Committee members) are asked to make their way to the Tang Museum to continue their meeting. Class and other volunteers are asked to select from the learning sessions below and move to those locations.

As a Skidmore volunteer you are invited and encouraged to interact with Skidmore College online through various social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. These platforms can be a powerful tool for staying connected and up to date on campus news, which will help you connect your classmates and advocate for Skidmore, regardless of your volunteer role. Join Daniella Nordin, digital engagement manager, as she shares ways the College connects with alumni, how Skidmore facilitates connections between students and alumni, how these social connections can support your volunteer work, and what it means to be #Skid4Life.

Volunteers are invaluable to Skidmore’s success. Your involvement in planning, communicating, fundraising, and connecting with the Skidmore alumni community takes time and effort. This session will help you understand the impact of what you do, the partners here at Skidmore ready and willing to help you succeed, and we will share some tricks and tools to add value to your volunteer experience all around.
